Our Accomplishments

Since 2019, WAEV has successfully implemented numerous programs, empowered hundreds of women and made significant impacts in our communities!

Over 125,000 Trees Planted

More than 125,000 trees have been planted around homesteads and local schools. These trees will produce thousands of pounds of fruit, timber, and firewood for the communities we work with, while revitalizing the ecosystem.

75% Average Tree Survival Rate

A significant percentage of planted trees have survived, which is exceptional given the dry and unpredictable conditions in the region. We are proud to have a consistent annual tree survival rate above 70% since our foundation in 2019.

13 Women’s Groups Organized

More than 400 women have united to form 13 self-governing groups. During weekly meetings, they collaborate on projects, gain new skills, develop business ventures, and work to support and empower each other.

115 Water Tanks Provided

We have been able to distribute 115 water tanks with a 2000L capacity to improve access to water sources to 115 different families. These tanks are used to collect rain water which can then be used as drinking water and well as for water trees and gardens.

70+ Vegetable Gardens Established

The women we work with have successfully established more than 70 vegetable gardens around their homesteads. These gardens will have increased nutritional intake and food security for dozens of families.

100% Loan Repayment Rate

Our women have taken out over 3,000 loans to start/grow more than 230 business, support personal needs, and keep their children in school. 100% of these loans have been repaid thanks to the continuous support women’s groups provide to help each other meet repayment deadlines.

Help us further our impact!
