education, and environmental conservation initiatives.
We are deeply embedded in the communities we serve, uniquely positioned to understand and address systemic challenges for women’s economic empowerment, livelihood, and climate resilience at their roots.

Our Programs
Women’s Economic Empowerment
By providing microloans and business training while facilitating access to markets and financial services, WAEV enables women to obtain greater economic independence and improved social status in their communities.
Environmental Conservation
WAEV works to mobilize and train women and families to plant trees at their homesteads, bare lands and local schools. Trees produce firewood for cooking, timber for construction, and fruit to boost nutrition and generate income. These trees also reduce soil erosion, improve soil fertility and restore the natural ecosystems.
Maji ni Uhai (Water is Life)
We work to combat inadequate access to clean water in our women’s groups by providing water tanks and the knowledge on how to collect it. We strive to provide our beneficiaries with all the necessary resources they need to succeed, and water is of the utmost importance.
